Ultra Pretender Roadblock

So, on Christmas Eve, a package from Puma arrived unexpectedly (Thanks again for the surprise man). There was a lot more goodies in there, but I promised that I would do this review as soon as he was complete, five months ago...haha. The plow was one of the items in the box, and the last item I needed to complete him.

Some MIB Pieces

I have been on a slight binge for boxes lately, any I've seen cheap, I've nabbed. I took some pics of them and thought that I would share. There won't be too much wording, just some pics. The boxes aren't perfect, but they are good enough for me, sometime I will get the inserts.

1985 Cars Part 2 (Hoist, Skids, and Grapple)

The second post in the 1985 series of cars, Been a while since I posted a regular post.

Monday 1 December 2014

KO / Counterfeit Scorponok Comparison and ID Guide

Figured since I got one of these in for a custom, that I would take the time to compare it side by side with the original. The box has been compared elsewhere in depth, figured I would do the same for the figure.

Masterforce: Metalhawk

Metalhawk arrived today, I am very pleased to add him to my collection. I have been anticipating getting him for a bit.

Thursday 30 October 2014

Decepticon Powermasters

These are some more of my favorite (full size) subgroup. This time the US versions.

Monday 27 October 2014

1984 Minibots part 1 (Bumblebees, Cliffjumpers, and Gears)

Received a package today that completed my Minibots other than replacing a couple reissues. It contained these:

New G1 Collection Room Update: Toystages Added.

As a few of you know, I have been working with Toystages as their photographer for a few months. Just this week, I received enough of them to complete my G1 room (minus the micro display, but that would take a custom sized one that's way too big)

Reissue VS Vintage Star Convoy

Just a Quick comparison between the reissue and vintage Star Convoys, they made quite a few changes.

Thursday 16 October 2014

Destron Sparkdashers and Firecons

So this concludes a long saga in hunting for me. I only went after the two that were different, maybe one day I'll find a Flamefeather/Sizzle in the box just to have the trio. These are the Decepticon/Destron cold sparking figures.

Wednesday 15 October 2014

Constructicons and Devastator

Took me a while to get around to these guys, mainly because I had to retake the photos.

Monday 13 October 2014

Short and Sweet: the Duocons.

One of the smallest subgroups in G1, the Duocons.  Most of the subgroups had an Autobot and a Decepticon version of them, Firecons, Sparkabots, etc. the Duocons on the other hand, were alone in their gimmick

Wednesday 8 October 2014

Protectobots and Defensor

Completely missed posting these guys. Not exactly sure how that happened, but we'll fix that.

Tuesday 7 October 2014

1985 Cars Part 1 (Tracks, Red Alert and Inferno)

In 1985, there was another batch of previously Diaclone figures repainted or rereleased to be used in Transformers, we'll cover the first three here

Tracks has to be one of my favorite car bots, probably because I love the Corvette and the roof chest never gets old with me.

"Upgrades" Part 6: Feral Rex Edition

at the request of Maz, Upgrades with Feral Rex and the Feralcons. This immensely popular 3rd party set of figures from Mastermind Creations was very well received by the fandom as a whole. Mine has been completely Reprolabeled, the gold chrome highlights just make the figure pop even more.

Sunday 14 September 2014

Predacons and Predaking

I've found that with US G1 collectors, there is one of two combiners typically hailed as their favorite. Devastator and Predaking. Predaking is by far the largest of the G1 combiners, even if you include the Japanese ones as well.

Tuesday 9 September 2014

"Upgrades" Part 4

Continuing on with the upgrades posts, I have figured out there is very little rhyme or reason behind the figures I've been choosing for this.

Wednesday 3 September 2014

Blaster and the 1986 Cassettes

Following after the last post, I thought it would be nice to do the Autobot counterparts.

Wednesday 27 August 2014

Soundwave and the 1984 Cassettes

Figured it was about time I did these. One of my absolute favorite characters, Soundwave.

Sunday 24 August 2014

Sixknight vs Quickswitch Comparison

Just a quick comparison between the two to go along with the Greatshot one. These two aren't as nice as the Sixshot mold, but still a fun mold.

Sunday 17 August 2014

Japanese Reflector (21)

Thanks to Heroic Decepticon's post about this a while ago (seen here), I decided that when I got a Reflector, I wanted the Japanese version, mainly for the box and artwork, and because he's one of my favorite figures, so I wanted him to be MIB. When Ohmyprimus put him up for sale, I immediately jumped at my chance to own him.

Thursday 14 August 2014

Greatshot vs Sixshot Comparison

Just as a little supplement to the Greatshot review to show all the mold differences between him and Sixshot.

Wednesday 13 August 2014

Victory: Greatshot

This guy arrived today from a friend. I am pretty pleased with it, very nice condition inside and out of the box. He's a heavy remold of Sixshot.

Tuesday 12 August 2014

"Upgrades" Part 3

Today, we do another edition of Upgrades. Continuing with the randomness of the last ones. Wanted to change it up a bit, save the next review for tomorrow.

Thursday 7 August 2014

86 Movie Autobots

These guys don't get a lot of love, probably because of the drastic change in style between the 1984/85 Diaclone/Microman/etc. reuses and Hasbro's first in house offerings. Springer is in the pic, but I already covered him here.

Tuesday 5 August 2014

Progress Report on Japanese G1 collection

I was chatting with Arkvander this morning and he suggested that I do a current state of my Japanese G1 collection. It's not quite done, but I figured it was a good idea for a post, if it comes across as a bragging post, it's his fault. ;) The pieces that were US released as well, I (mostly) left out for time and spacial reasons.

Random opening picture, go!

Wednesday 30 July 2014

Pretender Skyhammer

Got this guy and most of Roadblock in the mail today. Pretty neat, the GPS really cripples him though.

Thursday 24 July 2014

"Upgrades" Part 2

This will be an ongoing series, but not all in line, just felt like doing the other four that I had in mind for the first one, but didn't want to write up at the time.

Monday 21 July 2014

"Upgrades" Part 1

Within the toylines of Transformers, we normally get new figures of old characters, whether it be in their original bodies, or something way out there that makes little sense. In this series of posts that I'll randomly throw in from time to time, we'll check out a few of them. If a character is featured once, it doesn't mean they won't get another one later on with another line.

Tuesday 15 July 2014

Operation Combination Sixbuilder Comparison

Another year, another TFcon, got to meet up with most of the people I was trying to, missed Angry Canadian Decepticon though, we'll get to meet up sometime. Picked the vintage version of this guy up at the show. It ended up being one of like three G1 pieces I grabbed, pretty light on the vintages for me.

Tuesday 8 July 2014

Operation Combination Sixtrain Comparison

Got this today, the only piece I secured from HD's Operation Combination sales. Very impressed with the condition, and happy to have him. I was blown away on how many differences there were between the vintage and the reissue. The reissue was released in Japan as Sixtrain, and in KB Toys over here as Rail Racer with no changes.

Monday 7 July 2014

Autobot Triplechangers: Broadside, Sandstorm, and Springer

While not quite as much of a three home run set as the Decepticon set, I still really like all three of these guys. Decent colours, neat transformations, and a more late G1 feel keep them in the running as a good subgroup.

Wednesday 2 July 2014

Decepticon Triplechangers: Astrotrain, Blitzwing, and Octane

These guys are still ranked at the top of triplechanging engineering in my opinion, being as both alt modes are good. Sure there's minor things like Astrotrain's rockets, or the cockpit on Blitzwing, but they all look good, the classics versions on the other hand have huge sacrifices to the alt modes which really bring them down in my eyes, like half a train hanging over the wings on the shuttle, which would effectively render it incapable of flight.

Monday 30 June 2014

A Couple Euro G1: Turbomasters Rotorstorm and Thunderclash

These two are some of my favorite Euro G1 figures. I remember playing with Rotorstorm as a kid and loving the figure, so he was always high on my want list. I had gotten an incomplete one in a lot with Thunderclash and a bunch of BW and Micromasters, promptly sold off the BW stuff. The Turbomasters were made up of four smaller figures and two bigger ones, much like the Predators. The two larger ones are the ones we'll cover in this review.

Friday 27 June 2014

The Clones

These were one of the sets I had never handled until adulthood. I'm pretty impressed by the two sets, I think it was a neat gimmick, and glad it wasn't over used. We'll start with the Autobot pair.

Thursday 19 June 2014

The Datsun Bros. (Bluestreak, Prowl, and Smokescreen)

This trio is near and dear to me since Prowl was my first Transformer. My brother gave him to me when another of my brother's snapped the roof off of him. Where he ended up is anyone's guess. As such, I have always loved this trio, and hopefully in the near future I can replace my Prowl with a MIB original.

Thursday 5 June 2014

Seacon Reissue

Haven't gotten around to de-reissuing this set yet. Maybe later this year, but for now, I have the BBTS reissue version. This combiner was released in Masterforce as well as the US market. I will include their Masterforce names in parenthesis.

Wednesday 28 May 2014

The Last Godmaster: Doubleclouder!

Just got this guy in the mail, have been waiting on him to show for a couple months, well worth it i think. Clouder is a redeco of Doubledealer, with a much more quality looking finish.

Monday 26 May 2014

Destron Emperor of Destruction: Deathsaurus

I received this guy in the mail today. Very pleased with it and can't wait for the next piece the seller has... Thanks again :)  Not too bad of a figure, It was missing the little guns for the eagle, I have found one already, but the other one might take a while. The box art for him is great. too bad the mace isn't on a chain like it shows.

Tuesday 20 May 2014

A Couple of My Favorite 85 Figures: Jetfire and Shockwave

I loved these as a kid, and still do. Shockwave I got for helping a friend at a toy show last year, it had a faulty leg slider, but I was actually able to repair it with some boiling water. Now it is perfect, just waiting on a friend to send me pics of a box for him.

Wednesday 14 May 2014

Masterforce Godmaster Engines (Bullet, Zetca, and Aquastar)

Anyone I chat with regularly knows that I've been looking for these guys for quite a while. So while out with some friends I noticed them pop up, and messaged right away. I had to get rid of my spare, but the set was a good price for me. Happy to have these guys in my collection. Godmasters and Powermasters are my favorite sub-group of G1, so once one more package arrives, I will be complete on all of them

Sunday 11 May 2014

1989 Decepticon Micromaster Patrols

This will be a short post, but it's a Sunday. I was waiting for something in the mail all week, which should have been here by Tuesday. According to the tracking, it was in the city that sorts it to come here the next day on Monday, but went on a random tour past here for some reason. Hopefully it shows up tomorrow.
